I also thoguht they were banned and that Police could actually take the mini moto away, but thats a problem we would need police in the town, but i think if you or any one reported the youth involved they can still have their mini moto away, not 100% on that one though so dont quote me

Never mind the minimtos ,there is some pillock flying round the town in a white fiesta who is in grave danger of killing someone. If anyone would care to drop a hint to him to slow down it could save him from a lot of distress as I will knock his block off if he gets as close to my daughter and her mates as he did the other night with his handbrake turn. I will be popping into Somerfield to have a quiet word with the brain dead numpty on Saturday.

On these kind of issues, the Police cannot be every where, take the vehicles registration number and call Crimestoppers, you dont even have to give them your name. Mini Motos SHOULD not be driven on the public highway, no tax or insurance by the kids under 17, if caught they are confiscated and crushed - the bikes not the kids.............

lol @ titus, its no good taking the law into your own hands, and i agree that what can the Police do! well for one log the call and then it starts to build a case, yep i know that may not appear to be right or good enough but ............ when crime aint reported its the old story when the funding happens for policing in Aspatria the first thing they look at is Crime Figures and if crime aint reported then they look low then the funding reduces. I know this aint what we want to hear we just want the problem sorted which i would want.

| | Are you aware that accordingto statistics given at the the last Open meeting with allerdale, that Aspatria has the lowest recorded incidents of crime with in the Borough!! Silloth has the second lowest recorded incidents of Crime related matters. We do not now appear to have a dedicated Police presence and I believe that we do not meet the criteria as regards Local Police Teams, however we do have a Community Support Officer, but can anyone please tell me when they last saw her. Does anyone on the Council know what level of Policing Aspatria actually gets? |

If people are not going to report incidents to the police, then it is bound to look like we have a very low crime rate in Aspatria. All calls that are placed with the police are logged, whether acted on or not it does give an accurate account as far as they are concerned, whether the figure is right or not is another matter as all they can go off is the calls that are logged and acted on by themselves. I noticed that we dont appear to have pc lee around anymore just community support about every now and again, I can not recall seeing her for a while either.

Whilst driving through the outskirts of fletchertown on tuesday tea time, I passed an accident scene, A young child had been knocked over, there were police and an ambulance there tending to the young child that was still lay in the road. I just hope that the child was okay. Surely it is time that speed limits were enforced in these quiet country roads, it certainly brings home the importance of taking extra care when travelling through inhabited areas, whether they be rural or in towns. It only takes the blink of an eye for a young child to run out in front of a car.

I seen that accident Bex, the ambulance was there and the Police interviewing a driving. It was on a bad stretch of road where the Houses are and parked cars are always there, its a bad bit for speeders even though there is a 40 mph limit in force there. Does anyone know how the Child is that was hit?

I see Henry has answered this already, hopefully the child that was hit is okay. I personally believe that all that stretch of road should have a limit of 40mph and slower in inhabited areas. Thankfully I believe the County Council will be implementing new speed limits in Villages and Towns before long. Whether these limits will be observed remains to be seen. I observed that the road had speed limit 20 mph this week due to parts of it having loose chippings I observed several cars going alot faster than that, obviously oblivious that the chippings can also fly up and hit other cars or even people on the pavement.
