| | Titus I cannot agree with you more, I am, like many, angry that Councillors get elected on a mandate then disappear from the Public eye. Yes working as a Councillor is time consuming and means that you will be busy, and people will want answers and advice, its the nature of the job, for DW to keep saying he is busy shows a lack of respect for those that voted for him and all the others. Being a Councillor is a commitment for which you have to pay with time and effort, its not a title to add to your CV.It appears he wants the title but not the pain. |

| | Titus and Reiver, have you put your concerns directly to DW? I did, however he fobbed me off with words he thought I wanted to hear. But the more people that do complain to him, the more likely he is to take notice. (maybe not in this lifetime). |

| Resident I do not think that contacting DW would serve any purpose after all he`s an expert at talking the talk, but cant put anything he says into action. I have totally wasted my vote on this man and I know one things for sure come the next election, he certainly wont be getting my vote again, no matter how much canvassing he does in the weeks leading up to it. |

| | I noticed on the news that there had been a vote of no confidence in the Alliance party at Allerdale. Sadly the vote failed. Oh well roll on the next elections so we can vote the lot of them out. |

| I noticed that too Resident, its in the News and Star today. I wonder how and if it will shake up the Alliance, may be make them think more about the voters. I also read that the leader Joe Millburn wants the council to be more transparent, I wonder how he will go about achieving this. The icing on the cake has to be their refusal to have their allowance rate frozen for this year. Well Done to Mr Alan Smith who wanted them frozen for the next year, at least he is showing responsibilty towards the voting public, even if the vote did fail by 22 to 20. Their new increase is supposedly in line with inflation. |

| Did you know that almost £300 of the massive council tax we pay here goes into the pension fund for allerdale staff !! I wish I could put £300 away a year to boost my pension. |

| I seen the papers and the vote, but if i aint mistaken that the vote was put by an ex-alliance councillor?? another point i would make is i have never ever seen this happen before!!! Even though the vote failed, my worry is that it will send out "shock waves" and thus starting a chain reaction with some thing else. The allowance thing, this does seem strange; i believe that when it comes to this type of discussion/decission been made it should be done by an external group/agency. Thus its independant, because lets face it if you decided on what pay rise you got would you say to yourself NO i wont give/have one?? be honest! |

| I have not heard a word from our 2 intrepid councillors regarding the threat of redundancies from Sealy, one of the main employers in town, 40 jobs are at risk, have they said anything in support of the workers, been to see if they can help anyone, give advice................. answer NO! No where to be seen, ......................... no change there then. |

| Our 'councillors' didn't even know CONDUX had closed down last September. Thats the old Cumbrian Implement place next to dentist. I have to mention though the jobs at Sealy, these people were taken on for a special contract and the contract has now finished, so they were really only there temporarily anyway. |

| Thanks Fudpucker for the update regarding the job losses, but it is still no excuse for our ''elected representatives'' not to make a song and dance about jobs going in Aspatria, where will these people find employment? Will these two help them out? |

| | I quite agree with you Titus, Sealy is a big employer in this area and the fact that there are going to be 40 redundancies in the area, whether they were temporary or not is an important issue in this area and one I would have thought our Councillors would have commented on at least. |
