| History of Aspatria and its Folks History of Aspatria and its folks, this board was recently requested by one of our new members that lives in the USA, they are currently doing their family tree and came across our site by accident. I think its an excellent idea so have added this board for people to add too and its a place where people can request things of the people living in Aspatria on the history of our town and its people. | Thanks Admin I am very excited about this board and look forward to reading other FMs contributions. We could also use this board if anyone is interested in researching their family history - I have been doing genealogy for several years, concentrating on my family from Aspatria and its surrounding areas so if you need any help, I would be willing to help out. You never know, I might already have some info on your family name!! |

What an excellent idea! I have been doing my family tree also for the last year or so and find it hard work, I started off with one name and now have 6 going its never ending.
I find that using
http://www.findmypast.com http://www.ancestors.co.uk http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/ http://www.familyrecords.gov.uk http://www.gro.gov.uk/ http://www.one-name.org/
These are good outlets for assisting people with their family trees, I hope that people find some of these links useful

| | I've heard a rumour that Ollie Cromwell stayed in one of the farmhouses in Aspatria. Anyone know if that's true? |

| WoW! this page I will definatly keep watching as I love history and have often considered starting to do my own family tree but due to other commitments it has never come to fruition. I love how this site is growing. |

There is some truth in this but it was the Sun Inn not a farmhouse. Oooooops sorry my mistake that was Ollie Ainsworth. |
